Everything can be described, but never completely. An aspect is a coherent description of something, a view-point or perspective. There is always more than one side to an aspect. There is always yet another aspect to discover. Aspects overlap. Aspects have edges. The edges are often the most interesting parts. You may find an edge where an idea seems to be open-ended, where connections are made, and where controversy exists. The Buzzelled Edge explores the more venturesome aspects and irregular edges of life here in Florida, U.S.A., Earth, Milky Way, Universe.

The Almost-Global Almost-Economic Almost-Solution

If the government would just buy up all the surplus real estate and give it to me, that would create a bottom in the housing market. In turn, I would agree not to rent or sell any of it until some regulatory body told me I could do so gradually. That would be the almost-end to the almost-problem.

Please send .jpg of deeds to: Buzzelled Property Mgmt. Inc., c/o my email below.

The D&L Model

There seems to be a need for a new business with a new business model, and I have one that is just right for these times. I call it the Deposit and Lend (D&L) institution. It goes something like this:

1) Take in deposits at Rate 1.
2) Lend money to homeowners and businesses at Rate 2.
3) Operate through profit generated by Rate 2 being greater than Rate 1.

These days we have a lot of what they call "banks" around that don't seem to want to lend each other or anyone else any money. Perhaps money gets almost-sticky after a while, I don't know.

Therefore, if everyone would just send me all their money, we will all be moving back in the right direction.

Almost-Recession

The stock markets of the world have been on a steady decline for about a year now, and still, officials are hesitant to use the "R" word. Therefore, I humbly submit the new almost-technical term "almost-recession." Almost-recession is defined as "a downturn that may not be a complete recession." That's it. It's that simple.

That way, as long as there is one ecstatic clown on the planet joyfully throwing his own money up in the air all over himself, then we can say with certainty that we are not fully in a recession, but if everyone else is broke then we at least we can describe the economy.

The Pipeline To Nowhere

The "Bridge to Nowhere" is now the most famous structure on the planet. It is more famous than the Pyramid of Khufu at Giza, the Petronas Twin Towers, the Eiffel Tower, or the Leaning Tower of Pizza. Its non-existence hasn't seemed to quash its fame one bit, rather the flames of disbelief and astonishment continue to be fed, and the whole non-story seems to be heralding the non-existence of so many things.

For but one example is my now infamous Pipeline to Nowhere.

My dream pipeline.

I had a dream. Alas, it is dash-ed. No one will fund it. What am I going to do now?

Big Surprise At The LHC

Everyone expected that smashing large hadrons like those containing the Top quark would produce smaller stuff, reveal a Higgs or two, explain dark matter, antimatter, and whatsthematter.

Them hadrons just stuck together.

BUT NO! The large hadrons just all stick together and enlarge with the added energy (mass) like in these never-before seen pictures. These are actual size!

At first they may seem like the cheap models of molecules you see on ever scientist-wannabe's desk. But they are completely non-reactive, and cannot be subdivided by any known means. Also, they are not made out of little strings, as previously thought.

Needless to say they are gumming up the collider, a finely-tuned instrument of gigantic price, and nobody knows what to do with the stuff.

To be continued, . . . . I guess.

A Blackmail Economy?

MARATHON (Rot & Bottom) - Now that the pantheon of Big Brother companies have personal profiles on everyone, what are they going to do with them? With our phones, televisions, computers, and credit cards, we tell them who we know, what we buy, what we care about, and where we are.

KEY WEST (Conch-Wonk) - If the athletes thought the smog was bad at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 they would be aghast if they were now experiencing what Beijing has in store for athletes this year.
